Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Who teaches the classes?
A. The workshops are led by Norma daykin, UKA associate, with guest teachers from the Bristol salsa scene.

Q. Do I need to bring a partner?
A. You do not need to bring a partner. We rotate partners during the class so that everyone gets a chance to dance with a partner.

A. You should wear clothes that you are comfortable in and can move around in. You should wear shoes without grips so that you can turn smoothly on the floor. Trainers are not recommended.

Here's what people said about the weekend in 2009:
The workshop weekend was the best I have ever been to!!! Norma
delivers concentrated and thorough sessions, ensuring that everyone 'moves
on', no matter what their dancing skill level. I was very impressed by how
far she took complete beginners. There was just the right balance of clearly
broken down new moves with carefully managed repetition for skill
development to take place. Her attention to detail for individuals was
continually given to us all. A music teacher myself, I particularly
appreciated her introduction to the music structures and styles of salsa.
Norma really knows her stuff!! Oh, and we all had a really great time!!!!
(Julie Garnham, Piano Teacher and Salsa Enthusiast, Pembrokeshire).
We were
both really happy to have met you & the others and enjoyed the dancing and
the chatting and the eating and drinking. In particular the experience
really helped my understanding and my feel for what it is to lead a dance
partner. Look forward to the next time. (Ben and Francoise)
The course was brilliant, tuition well paced and good variety of dances, footwork and styles. Atmosphere warm and friendly, simply a brilliant weekend - went home buzzing!! Can't wait for the next one! (Margaret)
